And I opened my mouth, and he fed me the scroll
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου τὸ στόμα σου φάγεται καὶ ἡ κοιλία σου πλησθήσεται τῆς κεφαλίδος ταύτης τῆς δεδομένης εἰς σέ καὶ ἔφαγον αὐτήν καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ στόματί μου ὡς μέλι γλυκάζον
And he said to me, Son of man, your mouth shall eat, and your belly shall be filled with this scroll that is given to you. And I ate it, and it became in my mouth as honey sweetening.
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου βάδιζε εἴσελθε πρὸς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Ισραηλ καὶ λάλησον τοὺς λόγους μου πρὸς αὐτούς
And he said to me, Son of man, go, enter to the house of Israel, and speak my words to them.
For you are not being sent to a people deep of lip and heavy of tongue, but to the house of Israel
οὐδὲ πρὸς λαοὺς πολλοὺς ἀλλοφώνους ἢ ἀλλογλώσσους οὐδὲ στιβαροὺς τῇ γλώσσῃ ὄντας ὧν οὐκ ἀκούσῃ τοὺς λόγους αὐτῶν καὶ εἰ πρὸς τοιούτους ἐξαπέστειλά σε οὗτοι ἂν εἰσήκουσάν σου
nor to many peoples of another speech or of another language, nor those who are strong in tongue, whose words you would not hear, and if I had sent you to such, they would have listened to you
ὁ δὲ οἶκος τοῦ Ισραηλ οὐ μὴ θελήσωσιν εἰσακοῦσαί σου διότι οὐ βούλονται εἰσακούειν μου ὅτι πᾶς ὁ οἶκος Ισραηλ φιλόνεικοί εἰσιν καὶ σκληροκάρδιοι
But the house of Israel will certainly not want to listen to you, because they are not willing to listen to me, for the whole house of Israel are contentious and hard-hearted.
καὶ ἰδοὺ δέδωκα τὸ πρόσωπόν σου δυνατὸν κατέναντι τῶν προσώπων αὐτῶν καὶ τὸ νεῖκός σου κατισχύσω κατέναντι τοῦ νείκους αὐτῶν
And behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and I will strengthen your contention against their contention.
καὶ ἔσται διὰ παντὸς κραταιότερον πέτρας μὴ φοβηθῇς ἀπ᾿ αὐτῶν μηδὲ πτοηθῇς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν διότι οἶκος παραπικραίνων ἐστίν
And it shall be, harder than a rock, do not fear them, nor be dismayed at their face, because it is a provoking house.
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου πάντας τοὺς λόγους οὓς λελάληκα μετὰ σοῦ λαβὲ εἰς τὴν καρδίαν σου καὶ τοῖς ὠσίν σου ἄκουε
And he said to me, Son of man, all the words that I have spoken with you, take into your heart, and with your ears hear.
καὶ βάδιζε εἴσελθε εἰς τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ λαοῦ σου καὶ λαλήσεις πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐὰν ἄρα ἀκούσωσιν ἐὰν ἄρα ἐνδῶσιν
and go, enter into the captivity, to the sons of your people, and you shall speak to them and shall say to them, Thus says the Lord: if indeed they will hear, if indeed they will give heed
καὶ ἀνέλαβέν με πνεῦμα καὶ ἤκουσα κατόπισθέν μου φωνὴν σεισμοῦ μεγάλου εὐλογημένη ἡ δόξα κυρίου ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ
And a spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great shaking: Blessed be the glory of the Lord from his place.
καὶ εἶδον φωνὴν πτερύγων τῶν ζῴων πτερυσσομένων ἑτέρα πρὸς τὴν ἑτέραν καὶ φωνὴ τῶν τροχῶν ἐχομένη αὐτῶν καὶ φωνὴ τοῦ σεισμοῦ
And I saw the sound of the wings of the living creatures touching one another, and the sound of the wheels beside them, and the sound of a shaking
καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα ἐξῆρέν με καὶ ἀνέλαβέν με καὶ ἐπορεύθην ἐν ὁρμῇ τοῦ πνεύματός μου καὶ χεὶρ κυρίου ἐγένετο ἐπ᾿ ἐμὲ κραταιά
And the spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in the rush of my spirit, and the hand of the Lord came upon me strong.
καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν μετέωρος καὶ περιῆλθον τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ Χοβαρ τοὺς ὄντας ἐκεῖ καὶ ἐκάθισα ἐκεῖ ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἀναστρεφόμενος ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν
And I came into the captivity at Tel-abib, and I went around those dwelling by the river of Chobar, those who were there, and I sat there seven days, being among them.
And it came to pass after the seven days, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου σκοπὸν δέδωκά σε τῷ οἴκῳ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀκούσῃ ἐκ στόματός μου λόγον καὶ διαπειλήσῃ αὐτοῖς παρ᾿ ἐμοῦ
Son of man, I have given you as a watchman to the house of Israel, and you shall hear a word from my mouth and warn them from me
ἐν τῷ λέγειν με τῷ ἀνόμῳ θανάτῳ θανατωθήσῃ καὶ οὐ διεστείλω αὐτῷ οὐδὲ ἐλάλησας τοῦ διαστείλασθαι τῷ ἀνόμῳ ἀποστρέψαι ἀπὸ τῶν ὁδῶν αὐτοῦ τοῦ ζῆσαι αὐτόν ὁ ἄνομος ἐκεῖνος τῇ ἀδικίᾳ αὐτοῦ ἀποθανεῖται καὶ τὸ αἷμα αὐτοῦ ἐκ χειρός σου ἐκζητήσω
When I say to the lawless man, By death you shall die, and you did not give warning to him, nor did you speak to warn the lawless man to turn from his ways to save him alive, that lawless man shall die in his lawlessness, and I will require his blood at your hand
καὶ σὺ ἐὰν διαστείλῃ τῷ ἀνόμῳ καὶ μὴ ἀποστρέψῃ ἀπὸ τῆς ἀνομίας αὐτοῦ καὶ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ ὁ ἄνομος ἐκεῖνος ἐν τῇ ἀδικίᾳ αὐτοῦ ἀποθανεῖται καὶ σὺ τὴν ψυχήν σου ῥύσῃ
And you, if you warn the lawless man and he does not turn back from his lawlessness and from his way, that lawless man will die in his iniquity, and you will deliver your soul.
καὶ ἐν τῷ ἀποστρέφειν δίκαιον ἀπὸ τῶν δικαιοσυνῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ποιήσῃ παράπτωμα καὶ δώσω τὴν βάσανον εἰς πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ αὐτὸς ἀποθανεῖται ὅτι οὐ διεστείλω αὐτῷ καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτοῦ ἀποθανεῖται διότι οὐ μὴ μνησθῶσιν αἱ δικαιοσύναι αὐτοῦ ἃς ἐποίησεν καὶ τὸ αἷμα αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῆς χειρός σου ἐκζητήσω
And when a righteous man turns away from his righteous acts and commits a trespass, and I will put the stumbling block before his face, he himself shall die, because you did not warn him, and in his sins he shall die; because his righteous acts, which he did, shall not be remembered, and his blood I will require from your hand.
σὺ δὲ ἐὰν διαστείλῃ τῷ δικαίῳ τοῦ μὴ ἁμαρτεῖν καὶ αὐτὸς μὴ ἁμάρτῃ ὁ δίκαιος ζωῇ ζήσεται ὅτι διεστείλω αὐτῷ καὶ σὺ τὴν σεαυτοῦ ψυχὴν ῥύσῃ
But if you warn the righteous not to sin, and he himself does not sin, the righteous shall surely live, because you warned him, and you shall rescue your own soul.
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπ᾿ ἐμὲ χεὶρ κυρίου καὶ εἶπεν πρός με ἀνάστηθι καὶ ἔξελθε εἰς τὸ πεδίον καὶ ἐκεῖ λαληθήσεται πρὸς σέ
And the hand of the Lord came upon me, and he said to me, Rise up and go out into the plain, and there it will be spoken to you.
καὶ ἀνέστην καὶ ἐξῆλθον εἰς τὸ πεδίον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ δόξα κυρίου εἱστήκει καθὼς ἡ ὅρασις καὶ καθὼς ἡ δόξα ἣν εἶδον ἐπὶ τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ Χοβαρ καὶ πίπτω ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου
And I rose and went out into the plain, and behold, there the glory of the Lord was standing, like the vision and like the glory that I had seen by the river Chobar, and I fell on my face.
καὶ ἦλθεν ἐπ᾿ ἐμὲ πνεῦμα καὶ ἔστησέν με ἐπὶ πόδας μου καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρός με καὶ εἶπέν μοι εἴσελθε καὶ ἐγκλείσθητι ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου σου
And spirit came upon me and set me upon my feet, and it spoke to me and said to me, Enter and shut yourself in the midst of your house.
καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου ἰδοὺ δέδονται ἐπὶ σὲ δεσμοί καὶ δήσουσίν σε ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐξέλθῃς ἐκ μέσου αὐτῶν
And you, son of man, behold, bonds have been placed upon you, and they will bind you with them, and you shall by no means go out from among them
καὶ τὴν γλῶσσάν σου συνδήσω καὶ ἀποκωφωθήσῃ καὶ οὐκ ἔσῃ αὐτοῖς εἰς ἄνδρα ἐλέγχοντα διότι οἶκος παραπικραίνων ἐστίν
And I will bind your tongue, and you will be made mute, and you will not be to them a man rebuking, because it is a provoking house.
καὶ ἐν τῷ λαλεῖν με πρὸς σὲ ἀνοίξω τὸ στόμα σου καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ ἀκούων ἀκουέτω καὶ ὁ ἀπειθῶν ἀπειθείτω διότι οἶκος παραπικραίνων ἐστίν
And when I speak to you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord: Let the one who hears hear, and let the one who is disobedient be disobedient; because it is a provoking house.
