To Moab thus said the Lord: Woe upon Nebo, because it has perished; Kiriathaim has been taken, Hamath has been put to shame, and defeated.

There is no longer healing for Moab; a boasting in Heshbon: they have devised evils against her; we have cut her off from a nation, and she will come to an end; after you a sword will go.

For a cry of those who shouted from Horonaim is destruction and great crushing

Moab has been shattered; declare it in Zoar.

For Alaoth has been filled with weeping; he will go up weeping on the way of Horonaim; you have heard the cry of brokenness

Flee, and save your souls, and you will be like a wild donkey in the wilderness.

Because you trusted in your fortifications, you also shall be captured, and Chemosh shall go out into exile, his priests and his rulers together.

And destruction shall come upon every city, and a city shall surely not be saved, and the ravine shall perish, and the plain shall be utterly destroyed, as the Lord said.

Give a signal to Moab, for in her affliction she will be kindled, and all her cities will be for an uninhabited place; where will a resident be for her?

Cursed is the one who does the works of the Lord negligently, taking up his sword from blood.

Moab has rested from his youth, and he was confident in his glory; he was not poured from vessel to vessel, and into exile he did not go. Therefore his taste has remained in him, and his smell has not failed.

The horn of Moab has been broken, and his arm has been crushed.

Those who inhabit Moab have abandoned the cities and dwelt in the rocks; they became like doves nesting in the rocks, in the mouth of a pit.

How has he been reconciled, how has he turned the back! Moab was put to shame and became a derision and a reproach to all around her.

For thus said the Lord

Akkarioth was taken, and the strongholds were seized together.

And Moab shall perish from being a multitude, because it magnified itself against the Lord.

A snare and fear and a pit are upon you, O Moab sitting there.

He who flees from the face of the fear shall fall into the pit, and he who ascends from the pit shall be caught in the snare, for I will bring these things upon Moab in the year of her visitation
