And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and you shall say to him: You were likened to a lion of the nations, and you too were like a dragon in the sea, and you horned with your rivers, and you troubled water with your feet, and you trampled your rivers.

Thus says the Lord: and I will cast over you the nets of many peoples, and I will bring you up in my hook

And I will stretch you out on the ground; the plains shall be filled with you, and I will seat upon you all the birds of the sky, and I will fill from you all the beasts of all the earth.

And I will give your flesh upon the mountains, and I will fill from your blood.

And the land shall be drenched from your streams, from your multitude; I will fill the ravines on the mountains from you.

And when you are extinguished, I will cover the sky and darken its stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

All the things that give light in the sky I will darken over you, and I will give darkness over your land, says the Lord, Lord

And I will provoke the heart of many peoples, when I bring your captivity into the nations, into a land that you did not know.

And many nations shall be grieved over you, and their kings shall be utterly astonished in their terror, when I brandish my sword against their faces, awaiting their fall from the day of your fall

For thus says the Lord: the sword of the king of Babylon will come upon you.

By the swords of giants, and I will cast down your strength; all of the plagues from the nations, and they will destroy the pride of Egypt, and all her strength will be broken

And I will destroy all its cattle from beside much water, and the foot of man will surely no longer disturb it, and the track of cattle will surely not tread it down anymore.

Then their waters will be at rest, and their rivers will go as oil, says the Lord

When I give Egypt to destruction and the land is made desolate with all its fullness, when I scatter all those dwelling in it, then they shall know that I am the Lord

A lament is it, and you shall lament it, and the daughters of the nations shall lament it; over Egypt and over all her strength they shall lament her, says Lord Lord.

And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the first month, on the fifteenth of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Son of man, lament over the strength of Egypt, and the nations shall bring down her daughters dead to the depth of the earth, to those going down into the pit.

In the midst of those wounded by the sword they will fall with him, and all his strength will lie down asleep

And the giants in the depth of the pit shall say to you: Become like whom are you better? Go down and lie down with the uncircumcised, in the midst of those slain by the sword.

There Asshur and all his assembly, all slain, there they were given, and their burial in the depth of the pit; and his assembly became round about his tomb, all the slain, those who have fallen by the sword.

Those who gave their terror upon the land of the living

There is Elam and all his force round about his tomb, all the wounded, those who have fallen by the sword, and those who go down uncircumcised into the depths of the earth, who have given their terror upon the land of the living; and they have borne their punishment with those who go down to the pit.

in the midst of the wounded

There Meshech and Tubal were given, and all their strength, round about his tomb, all his wounded, all uncircumcised, wounded by the sword, who gave their terror upon the land of the living.

And they lay down with the giants who had fallen from of old, who went down into Hades with war weapons and placed their swords under their heads, and their lawless deeds came to be upon their bones, because they terrified giants in the land of life.

And you, in the midst of the uncircumcised, you shall lie down with those wounded by the sword.

There the rulers of Asshur were given over, those who gave his strength to the wound of the sword; these slept among the wounded, with those going down to the pit.

There the rulers of the north, all the commanders of Asshur, who were going down wounded, lay down uncircumcised, with their fear and with their strength; and they bore their torment with those going down into the pit

Pharaoh the king shall see them, and he shall be comforted over all their strength, says the Lord Lord

For I have given his terror upon the land of life, and he shall sleep in the midst of the uncircumcised, with the slain by the sword, Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord, Lord
